Public invited to free events Sunday, September 27

The community is encouraged to join in the celebration of the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center’s one-year anniversary!

This Sunday afternoon, September 27, the building will be open to the public from 1 to 4 p.m. for a free open skate on the main floor ice. Birthday cupcakes will be given out to the first several hundred who arrive. Skate with Stampede players, meet Stomp, and pose for pictures with the Clark Cup trophy. Bring your own skates. Concessions will be available to purchase, and Storm players, Lightning Girls, and Big Bear also will be in attendance.

Also on Sunday at 4:30 p.m., sit back and watch the film “The Mighty Ducks” on the giant centerhung scoreboard. Admission is free, and free popcorn also will be provided.

“If you have not visited our new Events Center yet, this is a great time to do it,” says Mayor Mike Huether. “Come see what everyone is talking about and enjoy some free entertainment and create some fun along the way.”
