Augustana Basketball, Added Security Measures Will Slow Aldean Concert Ingress - Fans Encouraged to Arrive Early
Due to the increased security measures put in place for the sold out Jason Aldean concert at the Denny Sanford PREMIER Center in Sioux Falls this Saturday night, ticket holders are encouraged to arrive earlier than they have in the past to ensure a comfortable entry to the venue by show time.
The PREMIER Center will implement additional security procedures at the concert, including new prohibited items and size restrictions on all bags brought into the building. Event security staff will also use hand-held metal detecting wands on all ticket holders as they enter the venue, which is common at PREMIER Center events.
To accommodate the additional time needed for the new security procedures, doors will open 90 minutes prior (6 p.m.) to the concert start time (7:30 p.m.).
Bags no larger than 13” x 15” x 6” will be permitted inside the PREMIER Center. Guests who have bags larger than this size will be asked to return the bag to their vehicles or discard them. This is in addition to the existing policy that all bags, purses and personal items of any size are subject to search.
The PREMIER Center prohibits certain items into the facility including outside food and beverages, professional cameras, selfie sticks weapons of any kind, chain belts, pocket knives and other hazardous or potentially dangerous items. This is at the discretion of the PREMIER Center’s security personnel.
An exception will be made for medically necessary items after proper inspection. The venue is unable to store over-sized or prohibited items.
The Denny Sanford PREMIER Center respects the privacy of its guests and the enhanced security measures will only be used to prevent hazardous and prohibited items from entering the venue. These measures are being implemented in light of the changing world we live in. There are no known specific threats. These measures are merely following suit with other venues around the country for the overall safety of ticket holders.
These additional security measures will not affect people attending events at the Convention Center and Arena, including the Augustana College men’s and women’s basketball double header at the Arena at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m.
